8 Blogger Photographers You Should Check Out Now

Hey guys!

It’s finally December, which means Christmas is only a few weeks away! I can’t wait – I’m starting off the festive season by listening to lots of Christmas songs and putting up my Christmas tree! However, today’s post is actually not Christmas-related – it’s about my fave blogger photographers. Enjoy!*

When you’re a blogger, trying to take photos of yourself can be really tricky, especially if you’ve never used a camera before. I think we can all agree that OOTD pics are SO much less stressful if someone else is in front of the camera. The obvious people to turn to are your friends, family or other half, but what if they don’t have much experience with using a camera either? This is where professional photographers come in. Of course, not everyone can afford to hire a photographer for every single shoot – but there are some very affordable blogger photographers out there, especially in London.

So how can I find a suitable blogger photographer?

At the time of writing this post, I hadn’t used a blogger photographer myself, so I’d regularly turn to Instagram and Twitter when looking for inspiration for photo shoots [I’m a photographer myself BTW]. Some of my fave hashtags (especially on Instagram) include #londonphotographer #londonfashionphotographer and #fashionblogphotographer. You can also find photographers by asking fellow bloggers; use hashtags like #fashionblogger #londonblogger #londonfashion and #londonstreetstyle to find out which photographers they use. Photographers are always looking for new subjects, so don’t be afraid to DM to find out their rates!

Which photographers would you recommend?

1. Kaye Ford

I’m sure you’re all familiar with Kaye (a.k.a. ‘Fordtography) – she’s one of the most well-known blogger photographers in London. Not only has Kaye been featured on the cover of Elle, but she’s also captured a huge range of bloggers, including Devoted to Pink and Zoe London, so you can tell she’s good stuff.

2. Lauren Britton

Lauren Britton is another photographer who has worked with some big names in the blogging / YouTube world – think Lily Melrose and The Anna Edit. Lauren is based in Brighton but she travels to London quite a bit and I’m pretty sure she’ll be willing to do shoots around Southeast England.

3. Margarita Karenko

Margarita is one of the first blogger photographers I discovered, and I instantly fell in love with her style. Margarita does the typical shoots outside the pastel houses of Notting Hill and Chelsea, but she can also transform the less colourful houses and streets of London into stunning backdrops. I particularly love the shoot she did with Julia around Westminster. Oh, and if you ever want to do a shoot with your pet, you know who to hire!

 4. Rebecca Spencer

Rebecca Spencer’s photography is stunning. There is seriously no end to this girl’s talent!

5. Sarah Ellen

Sarah is fairly new to the blogger photographer scene, but she has come a long way in just a few months. She’s captured so many bloggers already – such as Albertine Sarah, Frances Hemmant and Frey de Fleur – and her photography keeps getting better and better.

6. Rosalind Alcazar

If you haven’t heard of Rosalind Alcazar, I’d recommend you check her pics out ASAP! She’s clearly a natural behind the camera and knows some really good places to shoot.

7. Stacey White

How could I not include Stacey?! Her photos are amazing!

8. Rachel Day*

A while ago, I decided that I wanted to be in front of the camera for a change, and decided to work with Rachel. She’s such a brill photographer and her editing style is so unique & creative. Rachel also made me feel at ease during my shoot – I was actually quite nervous about it!

Hope this post has given you some idea of who to go for when deciding on a photographer for your blog! Have you ever hired a photographer? Who would you recommend?

P.S. ALWAYS credit your photographer and don’t let your photographer overcharge – find out the average cost for shoots before agreeing to a free. Also, ask your photographer when they’ll be able to send you the finalised images BEFORE booking your shoot – there’s always the possibility that you’ve scheduled a shoot for one of their busiest weeks and they won’t be able to transfer the images until the following week – and that’s no good if you’ve got a deadline with a brand! And lastly, if the images somehow don’t turn out the way you expected, let the photographer know; they may be able to do a reshoot – for a small fee of course!
