Today I went to Foodies Festival at Alexandra Palace with one of my close friends and it was such a fun day out! I’d been eager to attend the event since reading Abbey’s post, and luckily there was one being held near me! The sun was out, which is rare for a Bank Holiday weekend, and there was plenty of food to look at (and eat, of course). There were lots of stalls selling fresh produce, as well as vendors from brands like Bonne Maman, Cawston Press and Shloer, who were all giving out free samples of their products. The festival also had a number of talks and cooking demonstrations throughout the day, but I wasn’t too fussed about them and my friend had to leave quite early anyway. Here are some photos I took during the event:
I also tried some of the delicious macarons from Dulce’s Patisserie, but sadly they got squashed in my bag! I’d definitely recommend them though!
One thing I’d point out about Foodies Festival is that it is quite expensive. Entrance is around £15 per day (fortunately, I got my ticket for free through Skint London), and lunch from the stalls costs at least £5. I didn’t buy any cocktails, but I did notice that they were mostly around £10, which I think is a bit too much IMO. Foodies Festival is also fairly small compared to other festivals and you can easily walk around the stalls and have lunch in under an hour. Nevertheless, the music was good, and there was a section for kids, so it’s suitable for the whole family, and the demonstrations from top chefs make it ideal for any real foodies out there.
What are you up to this Bank Holiday? Have you ever been to a food festival?
