How are you? A couple of years ago I started doing a ‘monthly favourites’ feature on my blog but for some reason I stopped. Well, I’ve decided to bring it back! But don’t worry – I’ll still be doing the ‘Film Recommendations’ posts and monthly playlists – the main difference is that my ‘monthly favourites’ posts will be about other things I’ve enjoyed throughout the month, for example catching up with old friends, blogging events and food. So, without further ado, here are some of my favourite things from March 2017:
1. Brunch at Wagamama’s with The Bloggers Hub
Having not been to Wagamama’s since first year of uni (2015), I was excited when Shanice announced a bloggers lunch there and signed up straightaway. I joined several other bloggers in the restaurant near London Bridge bright and early on a Saturday morning and we got to know each other before indulging in some Japanese food.
This was such a fun event, and I’m so glad I was able to attend! I picked up some lovely goodies (including a Skinny Mojito cocktail mixer from Funkin Cocktails) and bumped into some blogging pals. I also had a browse around the stalls – I think the ones from Johnny Loves Rosie, Lola’s Apothecary and Chi Chi Clothing were my faves – how gorgeous are their dresses?! Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to listen to any of the talks, but hopefully I’ll be able to at the next event!
3. Cereal Killer Café
Yes, I finally got round to trying Unicorn Poop! You can read my thoughts of Cereal Killer Café over on WeekendNotes.
4. Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Mint Flavour
I saw this all over Instagram and Twitter so I Googled it to see where you could buy it from. Much to my disappointment, it didn’t seem to be available anywhere in the UK. Fortunately, I checked Google again a couple of weeks later and found out that the bar was being stocked in Sainsbury’s. So naturally I rushed to my local supermarket and bought one – ok, I mean two. It is literally one of the best bars of chocolate I have ever tasted. I love the combination of mint and oreo. It reminds me of mint choc chip ice cream and Aero bars.
5. Debut Magazine
OMG, I am so glad I found out about this magazine! It is so inspirational and I love how it focuses on women in the creative industries! The latest issue is all about self-love and includes interviews with vlogger Danielle Peazer, radio presenter Kat Shoob and celebrity photographer Anna Fowler.
I heard an ad about Clique on Spotify so I decided to check it out while Riverdale was on its hiatus. I guess you can say that it’s a mix of Gossip Girl and Skins, so unsurprisingly it’s become my new addiction! I’m so curious about the girls and what Georgia is up to. I also love that it’s set at a university – there aren’t many TV shows set at uni / college.
Other highlights from this month include going to see Beauty and the Beast (which is incredible – you absolutely must see it if you haven’t already), spending time with family and friends, and catching up with Jane the Virgin and Once Upon a Time. On a less positive note, I finished my internship at the teenage magazine a couple of weeks ago so it’s back to job hunting again. Fun times! What did you enjoy in March? Did you go to any blogging events?
