My UK Bucket List

Hey guys!

Hope you’re all having a good week! I’m going to share with you the top 6 places I want to visit in the UK today. Although I lived in England my whole life, there are still so many cities and towns I have yet to discover, and I’d definitely like to do more day trips – I’m bored of going to the same places in London the whole time! Unfortunately, train fares are very expensive so it’s difficult to go elsewhere, but if I save up I’ll hopefully be able to tick off some of the places on this list!

1. Edinburgh

How is it possible that I’ve lived in the UK my whole life but haven’t been to Scotland?! It just seems to strange! Edinburgh is the city I’d most like to visit if I ever get the chance to go to Scotland. I like how everything is within an easy reach, and there is so much history in Edinburgh. If you’re planning to go to Edinburgh yourself and need some inspo, head over to Little Things Blog and On the Luce.

2. Bristol

Okay, so I have actually been to Bristol twice, but that was for uni open days, so I didn’t get to see much of the city. I’d love to go to Bristol for a weekend and do some more exploring. Royal Crescent, Clifton Observatory and Swoon Gelato are just a few of the places I want to visit when I go to Bristol. Notting Hill isn’t the only UK destination with colourful houses – Bristol has its own pastel theme going on too.

3. Durham

You’ll be surprised that I didn’t visit Durham at all in the three years I was studying in nearby York, but I just never got the opportunity. Durham is very high up on my UK bucket list. I’d wander through the cobbled streets and explore the museums, as well as pop by the uni, which is made up of several colleges, just like York, Oxford and Cambridge.

Heritage Cities

4. Chester

Chester is another British city that is worth visiting if you liked York. At 2000 years old, Chester is full of history and culture that spans many eras. Chester may not be well-known to people outside of the UK, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth visiting. Chester is one of the few walled cities in England and comprises of mainly Victorian and Medieval architecture. It’s also home to Chester Zoo – it’s been forever since I last went to a zoo!

5. Lincoln

Lincoln wasn’t a place I’d taken much interest in until fairly recently. However, judging by the photos I’ve seen, Lincoln seems a little like York, so I defo have to visit it at some point!

Stay Lincoln

6. Bournemouth

If you watch Brogan’s vlogs or read any of her blog posts, chances are Bournemouth is somewhere you’ve added to your bucket list. While I have been to Bournemouth with my family before, it was several years ago so it’s definitely about time for another visit! Bournemouth is a seaside town – just like Brighton – but there is so much to do – and I’d never realised that until I discovered Brogan Tate. Sixty Million PostcardsGiggi Gelateria and Oceanarium will defo be on my itinerary when I visit Bournemouth.

Dreams That Glitter

So that’s my UK Bucket List? Have you visited any of the places on my list?

I went to Uni in Lincoln it’s a bit more like Chester than York as it is so small. But it’s lovely (I’m completely bias ha) and very steep (the main street is called steep hill). Full of little pubs and tea rooms 🙂 you should check out their Christmas Market it is one of the largest in Europe and hosted in the Castle, they have a medieval area that sells medieval jewellery etc.

My boyfriend’s family live in Lincolnshire and I only went into the city for the first time earlier this year; to a restaurant and then a walk around the cathedral. The cathedral is absolutely breathtaking. I could have stared at it for hours! I’d love to explore more of Lincoln next time I get the chance!
