Hey guys!
I’m back with my September 2020 Playlist! I usually post playlists at the beginning of the month, but as I’ve been working full time and had other posts scheduled, I’ve only just had the chance to edit my latest playlist. Most of the songs I’ve included in this playlist were released in August or during the first half of September, but I’ve added a few songs that were released earlier this year, for example the remastered version of Jennifer Paige’s iconic song ‘Crush’ and Raye’s new single ‘Natalie Don’t’, which I only discovered a few weeks ago.
At the end of last month, JoJo teamed up with Demi Lovato on a remix of the song ‘Lonely Hearts’, which is on her most recent album Good To Know. Demi Lovato’s powerful vocals complement JoJo’s voice beautifully, although I do wish that Demi’s verse was longer. JoJo also released a few other songs on the deluxe version of Good To Know and they’re all so catchy – I particularly love ‘What U Need’.
Released on World Suicide Prevention Day, Marshmello and Demi Lovato’s collab ‘OK Not To Be OK’ was an instant hit amongst Lovatics. It’s an uplifting dance track that reminds listeners that they’re not alone and it’s normal to have negative thoughts. ‘OK Not To Be OK’ couldn’t have come at a better time.
Before listening to Miley Cyrus’s new song ‘Midnight Sky’, I was worried that I wouldn’t like it, but it ended up being one of my fave songs released so far this year. ‘Midnight Sky’ is just as catchy as ‘OK Not To Be OK’, and I literally listen to it every day! I can’t wait for Miley to release more music!
Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer has been one of my faves since they released the timeless bop ‘Youngblood’ in 2018, and their new song ‘Kill My Time’ proves that they’re literally incapable of releasing a bad song. ‘Kill My Time’ features on the deluxe version of the band’s fourth album CALM and is heavily influenced by ’80s synth-wave.
It’s also worth mentioning Katy Perry’s sixth albumΒ Smile, which unfortunately fell a bit under the radar but still featured some brilliant songs and catchy bops, such as ‘Daisies’, ‘Never Worn White’ and ‘Cry About It Later’.

Love this list, and it’s a long enough one to get through a productive day for me! My current fav song has to be ‘I drove all night’ by Celine Dion – granted an older song, but recently found it and I love it π Tania xx | Tania Michele
