Small Businesses To Support This Christmas

Small Business To Support This Christmas

Hey guys!

With Christmas just round the corner, I’m sure many of you are still looking for gifts to buy. Instead of turning to Amazon or other big corporations, why not shop small this year? 2020 has been a really tough year – and if well-known brands like Peacocks, Debenhams and Topshop have been struggling and had to cut hundreds of jobs, imagine how much harder it’s been for independent businesses. Christmas is a good time to check out some of the smaller businesses on websites like Etsy and Zazzle, and in your local area as they need extra support at this time of year.

This Christmas I’m making more of an effort to support small companies, and I’ve rounded up 8 of my favourites in this post.

  1. Betty Bramble

Abi Halpin at Betty Bramble has a range of cute festive jumpers to buy for yourself or a loved one this Christmas. The jumpers at Betty Bramble are very stylish and you can get matching ones for your kids. Betty Bramble also sells t-shirts, cowl neck hoodies, tote bags, make up bags and nursery art prints. Head over to Betty Bramble to see the full range of products.

Unfortunately, Betty Bramble is closed for Christmas, but you can always buy an early gift for next year or treat yourself to something when it opens again in January!

  1. The Confectionery Lounge

The Confectionery Lounge was established in 2018 by April, who had dreamed about running her own business since she left school. The Confectionery Lounge began as a side hustle, while April was still working as a full-time store manager, before she decided to go completely self-employed. April makes a range of delicious fudge that comes in many different flavours, such as Christmas cake, Biscoff, sea salt caramel, Millionaire’s Dream and chocolate orange. There are vegan options too. I’d definitely recommend the Biscoff fudge – it’s so moreish!

  1. JL Honest Products

The next brand on this list is JL Honest Products, which sells a range of eco friendly products that you can find over on Etsy. Choose from their bamboo toothbrushes, reusable cotton wool pads, plant pots and face masks. A lot of the items are under £10, which is great if you’re on a budget or looking for a stocking filler or Secret Santa gift.

  1. Lisa Angel

Lisa Angel is a brand I discovered recently. Set up in 2004, Lisa Angel offers a selection of unique and beautiful jewellery and gifts that are all high-quality and will be appreciated by pretty much anyone. The main thing that drew me to Lisa Angel was the personalised items – particularly the jewellery: you can add initials or names to make them more special. If that wasn’t enough, Lisa Angel also offers a range of advent calendars, decorations, wreaths, clothing, homeware and festive scented candles. Lisa Angel can be found either online or at the brand’s physical stores in Norwich or at various Topshop stores (such as Oxford Circus and Norwich).

Another jewellery and gift brand worth checking out is Ideal Gift Company. This Etsy store was launched by Francesca and has a collection of cute festive earrings, as well as personalised keyrings, water bottles, mugs, canvas bags and socks – all of which are perfect for stocking fillers.

  1. House of Sydane

Looking for a girly mug to gift your mum, sister, cousin, aunt, bestie, colleague or even yourself this Christmas? Take a look at Vienna’s store on Etsy. Here you’ll find a selection of festive, cute and motivational mugs. I really love the pink Gingerbread House, Boss Babe and Candycane Lane mugs – I couldn’t resist treating myself to one! I love how Vienna gift wraps her mugs and adds a sweet message.

  1. Bloggers Do It Better

Don’t you just love the name?! Just over a year ago, fellow blogger Nicola set up her own Etsy shop, which has a range of stationery that is perfect for bloggers and will inspire us to stay motivated and organised. If you browse the shop, you’ll find a number of postcards, tote bags and notebooks that you can gift either yourself or your blogger friends.

  1. Boss Bird

Boss Bird is a stationery brand that recently started selling hand sanitiser sprays – the most practical gift for 2020! These sanitisers are kind on the skin and come in wintery and festive scents, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and sweet orange.

  1. Bubble T Cosmetics

Last but not least, we have Bubble T. This brand is slightly bigger than the other ones on this list, but as I love their products I just had to include them! Bubble T is a cosmetics brand that offers a range of fruity, sweet and drinks inspired cosmetics. Some of the current scents are lemongrass & green tea, gin & tonic, and mango ice tea. In the past, Bubble T has also sold shower gel in flavours such as gingerbread, strawberry macaron and rhubarb & custard. I hope they bring them back in the future as they sound divine!

All Bubble T products are made from natural ingredients, including unique tea blends, and are free from parabens, SLS and SLES. What’s more, Bubble T is also against animal cruelty!
