Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Finished Series I Have YET to Finish (or probably never will)

Hi everyone!

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday will focus on ten finished series that I haven’t managed to finish reading myself. This weekly meme is hosted by Broke and the Bookish.

1. Confessions of Georgia Nicolson

I can’t believe I never finished this series – it’s hilarious! I only ever read the first three books, and that was in Year 9, so I was already a little to old to read the rest.

2. The Luxe

I keep meaning to pick up Rumors, but I always seen to find other books to read instead! One day I will finish this series!

3. The Maze Runner

Ok, so I did enjoy The Maze Runner, and I was planning to read The Scorch Trials this summer. However, I only have a few more weeks left until I go back to uni and since there are a few other books I want to read first, I think it will be a while before I start The Scorch Trials (I have a feeling this will be after the film comes out).

4. The Mortal Instruments

I was really late to start The Mortal Instruments, and for whatever reason I keep putting off reading the sequels.

5. Shopaholic

This is one of the series I definitely WILL finish! I promise!

6. Pretty Little Liars

I’ve read the first book, but I’m not sure if it’s worth reading the other 15+ books when I already know who ‘A’ is.

7. Anna and the French Kiss

Anna and the French Kiss was amazing; Lola and the Boy Next Door, not so much. However, Isla and the Happily Ever After has got some good reviews so I’ve put it on my list for next summer.

8. Divergent

I wasn’t planning to read Allegiant (the third book) until the Christmas holidays, but since I found a copy in a charity shop, I think I’ll read it after I’ve finished Solace of the Road.

9. House of Night

House of Night is one of my favourite series. While I do find that it is dragging on a bit, I’m determined to finish all the books.

10. Heartland

This is another series I got a bit too old for (I should also include Inkheart, Ingo, It Girl and Secrets at St Jude’s here). I stopped at Book 7. I think I’ll watch the TV show instead.

As you can see from this list, I am pretty bad at finishing book series. I think I’ve only ever finished four series completely – Twilight, The Hunger Games, Noughts & Crosses and His Dark Materials. Hopefully, I’ll be able to add a few more soon (most likely to be Divergent, Anna and the French Kiss and Shopaholic). What series of books have you read? Are there any you never got round to finishing?

  3. Have you read the Harry Potter books? I feel like that is one a lot have finished. I was stuck on 5 forevvvvver. I haven't read most of these series. I started Mortal Instruments, I started it right after the movie though, which I rarely let myself do at all, but then it was so similar that it was kind of boring. I know that wouldn't be the case with the others but I haven't gotten around to them yet. Allegiant is one I have heard few good things about and did not particularly enjoy. I felt a little bad for all the friends I had start reading the series.. : / Oh well! I want to finish Hilary Duff's trilogy, I just re-read the first. I also want to finish mortal instruments. I need to finish the Chronicles of Narnia as well. 🙂 XO – Alexandra

  5. I have started and never finished mortal instruments. I really want to read the maze runner series!

  6. I have started and failed to read LOTR at least 4 times now and I just can't do it.I don't know why – I am a massive fantasy fan (and have a degree in English) and I just feel like this is something I need to have ticked off!

  7. I haven't read Harry Potter! I really need to though! I also want to finish Hilary Duff's trilogy at some point, and the Chronicles of Narnia – I keep forgetting I have a few more books to read in that series!

  8. LOTR is such a long book, I own a copy but keep putting it off!

  9. The Maze Runner is quite good, but in terms of dystopian fiction, I do prefer The Hunger Games and Divergent.

  10. I feel bad if I watch the film and don't read the book! And vice versa too actually! Beautiful Creatures is a film I'd quite like too see, but I've forbidden myself from doing so until I read the book!

  11. I wish I could take out two or three years after university to read all the books on my list, and finish all the series I've started! I don't think that'll be possible though!

  12. That's definitely me haha! One day I will finish all the series I've started! (hopefully)

  13. Oh my god, Confessions of Georgia Nicolson is such a throwback! I absolutely loved that series as a pre-teen. Might have to re-read them to see if I find them just as hilarious in my mid-twenties!

  14. I'm terrible with books! I'll start reading like a mad woman then something comes up and I've no time to finish the book then I'll move on to another and do the same thing!! X
