For some reason, I can’t login to Spotify on my new laptop so I’ve been using YouTube instead recently. Some singers I haven’t listened to for a while have been popping up quite a bit on my ‘suggestions’ list, so I thought I’d write about them in a post. Here are some of the top singers I wish would release more songs:
1. Alexis Jordan
2. Katy B
Katy B isn’t very well-known, which is a shame because she is really talented. I was lucky enough to see her perform live during Fresher’s Week at uni back in 2013.
Like Katy B, Yasmin is an underrated singer from London. I recently rediscovered her song ‘Finish Line‘ whilst on YouTube and I can’t believe I forgot it existed. Yasmin has a great voice.
4. Esmee Denters
Do you remember that song ‘Outta Here‘ that was played on the radio years ago? That was such a tune! I never really listened to any other songs by Esmee Denters (minus ‘Admit It‘) and then she just fell off my radar. I’m defo going to make more of an effort to listen to her!
5. Avril Lavinge
As in ‘Complicated’ and ‘Sk8er Boi’ Avril Lavinge, NOT ‘Hello Kitty’ Avril Lavinge (erm, what even was that song?!). I used to listen to Avril ALL THE TIME when growing up, as I’m sure most of you did too. I would’ve loved to see her live or meet her in person.
Pink is another singer from my childhood who hasn’t been releasing many songs recently. The most recent song I can think of by Pink is ‘Just Like Fire‘, which featured on the Alice Through the Looking Glass soundtrack last year. She really needs to make a proper comeback.
Other singers that seemed to have fallen off the face of the Earth include Ashlee Simpson, Gwen Stefani, Christina Millian (‘AM to PM‘ was my jam), Cascada, Natasha Bedingfield, Owl City and Nelly Furtado. OH, and Jesse McCartney!
What singers or bands from your childhood do you miss?
